EYELEVEL NEEDS YOU!

Eyelevel Gallery based here in Halifax, Nova Scotia has been fostering socially-engaged artistic work outside of the traditional white-wall gallery space for close to 50 years.

This past year alone, we've presented exhibitions on the labour found in motherhood, sanctuary and refuge in trans communities, our ongoing AlterEye Café Works series that puts money in the pocket of early / emerging artists, our beloved HEAT WAVES residency, and more!

In an effort of harm reduction and community care at Eyelevel we will continue to require everyone to wear face masks/respirators at all times during our bookstore hours, events, meetings, panels, workshops, and residencies. We will have KN95/N95 respirators available for free for all of our events. We recommend wearing a well-fitted, good-quality mask, such as the N95 respirator. Not all masks are created equal and better masks give better protection.

You're invited to a collaborative zine-making workshop and an artist panel hosted by artist and co-founder of Weird Canada Marie LeBlanc Flanagan!

In the afternoon zine-making workshop, Marie will guide participants of all skill types through a collaborative zine as we explore our perspectives on labour rights and working in the creative industries. Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring their own text, poems, artwork, collages, and other printed items, but we will be fully supplied with materials needed to create a zine together.
