Change the Rules!: A collaborative zine-making workshop and artist panel with Marie LeBlanc Flanagan
You're invited to a collaborative zine-making workshop and an artist panel hosted by artist and co-founder of Weird Canada Marie LeBlanc Flanagan!
In the afternoon zine-making workshop, Marie will guide participants of all skill types through a collaborative zine as we explore our perspectives on labour rights and working in the creative industries. Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring their own text, poems, artwork, collages, and other printed items, but we will be fully supplied with materials needed to create a zine together.
If interested in attending, please visit Eventbrite to register. We strive to include all registrants, but we will prioritize folks from equity-deserving backgrounds.
This event will be from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Please be sure to bring a mask. There will be masks on-site in case you forget.
Right after, we will be hosting an artist panel facilitated by Marie all about the intersection between labour rights and the arts. She will be speaking to Nailah Tataa, Grey Muldoon, and Amanda Leigh-Zeller for a varied and comprehensive discussion you won't want to miss!
The panel will be from 6:30PM to 8:30PM, which will include some time for audience questions and discussion. While there is no cap on participation, we do invite you to register online here.
Both events will be held on the same day at Wonder'neath (2482 Maynard Street). For the artist panel, we do have an ASL interpreter who will be available on-site. If you are interested in attending and require other accommodations, please do not hesitate to email summer.programs@eyelevel.art. For the access notes from Wonder'neath, please visit this link.
See you there!
