Y-Level is Eyelevel Gallery’s annual exhibition featuring the work of emerging artists. The work represents a diverse range of approaches to contemporary art practice and theory. For Y-Level, ELG hosts curatorial intern Noah Logan in Building Relationships With Cinderblocks exploringthe theme of relationships and their various functions.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CINDER BLOCKS presents eight emerging artists from across Canada for Eyelevel Gallery's annual Y-Level exhibition. As artists and creative people we often live in a dichotomy of working alone in the studio, but require that our work have some sort of approval from our community. Why do we relate to each other? Why do we feel the need to have compassion and friendship? This exhibition features a diverse spectrum of media by artists tackling ideas and concepts of relationships through themes of language, communication, and interpersonal relationships. Curated by Noah Derek Logan.

A Y-Level publication featuring essays by Elise Boudreu Graham, Derrick Dixon, and interviews by Karen Hawes will soon be available in pdf format on our website.
