The focal point for the present exhibition “A Silent Place” is a life size portrait of Mother Theresa which visually dominates the centre wall of the gallery room. It is from the book, Mother Theresa by Desmond Doig and published by Collins.

The on-site installation exhibition occupied the three gallery rooms. It was dedicated to Mother Theresa, to Terry Fox, to Pedro Esquival and to others. It was comprised of slide projections, film, photographs, writings, sculptural assemblages, dandelion seed balls, butterflies and sound.

This exhibition, like those of the last serval years by Marina at Eye Level are an attempt at continuing a ‘dialogue’ with D.I. Hart, philosopher, musician, friend, Hart states of Marina’s work: …”the religiousness consciousness (of it) speaks in an atmosphere of ‘silence’ terrestrial and celestial become as One; … The serenity of each of the artist’s creations point to the vox dei; the One that speaks in ‘silence; …recreating the omniscience of that Mind at work…(the) universal approach combines both the invisibility of scientific thought and the philosophic domain, making tangible a multiplicity of worlds possible.”
