Recent Works by David Haigh
The recent sculpture of David Haigh includes a number of table pieces which incorporate precisely cast version of common “utilitarian” objects – electric lightbulbs, paintbrushes, etc. As an extension of earlier work with colour saturated polyester resins, this work is in line with the artist’s interest in the sculptural possibilities of familiar artifacts, previously expressed in terms of formal, abstract construction. Two of these constructions are included in the exhibition. Also in the show are a number of drawings and wall sculpture. All, including casting, has been carried out by the artist.
