Eyelevel is currently accepting applications for a Curatorial Intern through Young Canada Works.
Deadline: October 10, 2017 at 12 noon
7 hours/day, 5 days/week for 22 weeks
16 October 2017 to 30 March 2018
Eyelevel’s 2017-18 Y-Level curatorial position will support the development and experimentation of an emerging Indigenous curator. The Curatorial Intern will coordinate the gallery’s annual Y-Level exhibition, a program designed to support the work of emerging artists and curators. Working closely with Eyelevel’s Artistic Director, Board of Directors, various committees, and the participating artists, the Curatorial Intern will develop and execute a curatorial project from start to finish and assist in programming Eyelevel’s core exhibitions and member initiatives.
The internship will create an opportunity for an emerging Indigenous artist or curator to gain curatorial experience, while supported by a nationally profiled artist-run-centre. Eyelevel is working to provide additional support for the curator from an advisory board of Indigenous curators across the country. As with all Y-Level exhibitions, the curator will have full creative autonomy in the development and execution of the exhibition, with support, as needed, from Eyelevel.
