Printed Matter Artist-in-Residence

Eyelevel is seeking submissions for its 2018 Printed Matter Artist-in-Residence program. The residency will take place throughout the month of May, 2018, alongside the Eyelevel Reshelving Initiative 8, a biennale exhibition of artist’s books, multiples, and printed matter.

The local artist-in-residence will be invited to spend up to one month experimenting with printed matter at Eyelevel. They will receive access to twenty-four hour studio space and space to host up to two public presentations of their choosing (workshops, artist talks, performances, facilitated discussions, etc.).

The artist-in-residence will receive a stipend of $1,200.00, plus an additional $300.00 per public presentation. Material costs up to $200.00 can be covered by Eyelevel.

Artists at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply.

Eyelevel will accept applications in the form of text documents, videos, audio recordings, or in-person interviews, as required. Please use the format most familiar and accessible to you.

Please provide the following information in your application:

  • Who you are: a cv or short bio or introduction

  • What you hope to do: Briefly tell us about what you plan to work on during the residency (one page maximum, if applying with text). Please include your ideas for community engagement activities and/or public presentations.

  • What needs you have: Please mention what materials your project requires, accessibility needs, time-frame preferences and availability for the residency, and/or any other needs you may want to address .

  • Up to 10 images or videos or audio files for support material
