In this conceptual piece, Jodoin employed the work of the New York artist, Sue Coe. By including his own work and the work of another artist, Jodoin intended to make reference to the usually undisclosed aspects of an artist’s life and work. Rather than define himself as a uniquely gifted creator, Jodoin’s aim is to restore to the art work those things that are normally subtracted from it before it reaches the art gallery. Thus his intention reflected the contemporary aesthetic of analyzing and deconstructing some of the central myths of modern art.
