Passage Zone
Utilizing measurements from one of the gallery’s rooms, two cases will be constructed to scale, to serve as models for a third floor work. Both cases will be equal in size, made of wood and glass, and lined with lead, and contain similar stepped pyramid structures built of lead blocks. Both cases will hang on the wall. One of the cases will have a glass front, the other a glass top and will hang at a lower level, thereby offering a different perspective view of the inner contents. The cases are to be positioned adjacently on opposing walls. The two cases function as viewing models of the room and its contents – a third piece, a stepped pyramid positioned on the floor between the cases. This piece incorporates the proportionate scale of itself to the room as each of the pyramid models do to their respective cases.
