Paintings

The paintings in this exhibition are concerned with my understanding of, and relationship to, existing social conditions. Large social issues are dealt with on an individual level and this may be in many respects, somewhat naïve. The implications of maintaining a personal status quo became frequent subjects of the work.
These paintings represent, what is for me, a more organized approach to materials. Figurative and non-figurative elements are combined in such a way as to allow them to inform one another, and in so doing, hopefully express these concerns.
