The Forgotten Dead: El Muerto Olvidado
In The Forgotten Dead: El Muerto Olvidado, Adams employed a series of eight canvasses to represent images that helped her discover death in Mexico and which were important in her own mourning process. Through visits to cemeteries, museums, markets, villages and discussions with people, she examined the visibility of commemorating the forgotten dead; acting as metaphor for the exhibition itself, which was a personal commemoration for Adams’ dead.
