Six 16mm film installation – Each projection installation is viewer activated to project a filmic layering into, or through a constructed glass prop or photograph. The works mechanically explore the nature of film, while creating a sensory, experiential glimpse into issues evoked by the artist’s recollections. Rather than a purely personal recollection, this work evokes similar memories and experiences in the viewer. The installations tend to invade the viewers space, inviting interaction with the physical elements that may be interesting in themselves – as with reconditioned projectors and the film loops Plexiglas supports. Because these machines are familiar objects, they bring a dimension of comfort to the works, while the images, static and moving, may project a somewhat different sensibility.
