Janice Leonard, Gary Spearin, and Robert Pope are all representational painters although they differ quite markedly in their respective approaches. Leonard uses scraps of linoleum, carpet, paper, and wood to make ‘Dream Homes’. These are not real buildings but collage constructions that hang on the wall…Spearin uses common objects such as lawnmowers as the starting point for his large format canvasses…Robert Pope’s approach is a deeply personal one that focuses on the portrayal of persons and places familiar to the artist. Pope’s smaller, intimate panels are complimented in this exhibition by several charcoal drawings.
