In these recent paper works there is an attempt to evoke a specifically tragic range of emotional content appropriate to our age while maintaining rigorous formal relationships. The final shape of each piece is achieved through a collages process that seeks to establish a tension between the literal perimeter of the work and the internally organized marks and gestures.
