Here and There
The sculpture that I have been developing over the past 5 years takes its reference in part from existing objects, i.e. industrial palettes, saw-bucks, pylons, etc. These larger-world structures are alluded to for purposes of establishing familiarity. Upon investigation this sense of recognition is belied by composition and handling. The thing becomes and intentionally is meant to be sculpture. It becomes sculpture not by a process of elimination but by the integration of all that it reveals.
