Norman said of her installation,”…there are two main elements: one being ashes (traces, forms) and the other being flowers (names, motifs) which make reference to two places: cemeteries and gardens. In reference to both of these places of reflection, I am exploring the relationships between life and death, form and formlessness, ephemerality and memory; ornament and monument.” Nadine Norman created an installation consisting of two main elements, ashes (traces of forms) and flower names and motifs. The hypnotic and funereal atmosphere created by the work reference both cemeteries and gardens as places of reflection.
