Eyelevel is pleased to launch a series of digital gathering events to end your day each week on Thursdays starting at 5 PM Atlantic Time.
We’re feeling a need to connect with one another, to enjoy each other’s company and spend time together in solidarity and friendship. These events are an informal forum for discussion and mildly facilitated connection over contemporary art and the experiences and needs of artists – a time to learn about the work and interests of other artists and share your own.
There is no cost to joining in, participate at any level that you want to, and put in as much or as little preparation as you would like.
All events will be held over Zoom, a web-based video conferencing program. You can join on your computer, through the Zoom app, or call in on a cell phone or landline. Open to folks from all locations, all ages and at any stage of their artistic careers.
How to join:
On your computer at https://zoom.us/j/457879808
With the Zoom app using meeting ID: 457 879 808
Call in on any phone: +1 (647)-374-4685 and enter meeting ID 457 879 808
The schedule for Digital Drop-In is:
April 9th, 4 PM – 5(ish): Craft and Conversation
Sit down with us and a craft that you’re working on (or would like to start), we’d love to see what you’re working on - join us just to chat and spend time together while we keep our hands, hearts and minds busy.
April 16th, 5 PM – 6(ish): Sketchbook Show-and-Tell
Eyelevel’s Artistic Director will lightly facilitate a show-and-tell of everyone’s sketchbooks. Show us what you’re working on in your sketchbook or grab an old one for a trip down memory lane. We welcome artists of all ages, disciplines and stages of their careers – this is not a critique, but a time to show us your sketches, ideas and research.
April 23rd, 5 PM – 6(ish): Admin Circle
Do you have a grant or exhibition application that you’re working on? Need to do your taxes for the new June deadline? Join in as we work on these tasks together. We can chat, ask each other questions and just do this less-than-enjoyable work in the company of friends.
April 30th, 5 PM – 6(ish): Studio Show-and-Tell
We’d love to see your workspace! Do you have an off-site studio, a room in your living space or a neat set up in your bedroom or kitchen that you want to show off? We’ll take turns showing each other what our studio set-up looks like and what we’re working on right now. Not a crit, not a time to judge, don’t worry about cleaning up.
Depending on attendance and interest, we may add more dates and themes… stay tuned!
