Composite Photographs

From artist statement:   I have been researching the changes in the structure of the family from historical, anthropological and social points of view. I have observed that changes in the structure of the family are related to the larger economic structure. Decisions that are made in the larger economic structure surface in the family. The family responds and adapts as necessary to these changes, therefore changing itself in the process. I am dividing the work into two separate parts. The one is a series photographs. The other is a sculpture/installation. The composite structure of the photograph is equal to the situation of the viewer: his immediate recognition of the individual (who is either looking at him or away from him), a middleground behind the viewer and the larger socio-economic background behind that.
