As the wintery black rabbits work away in their city dwellings, we gather to explore the art of storytelling through a night of interactive investigation into what we consider our place to be. What is a city but a collection of the stories of its’ people and places? What is Halifax’s mythology that our individual stories collectively weave?
In preparing for this night, please pick a place you like to be & spend some time being there in the dark & light. Complete our brief & provoking postcard survey to capture the essence and stories of that place.
Explore…
How do I see my city?
What routes do I walk each day?
Where do I spend time?
How do i interact with my reality?
The night of…..
Our team will offer improv skits to start the night off, inspired by experiences & stories in our city.
Bring your postcard with you to add to our huge city map & begin telling a tale of your Halifax experiences as the room crafts away with creative mapping, drawings, and sculpture to evoke story-telling though play. Enlivened by sound and video installations, this evening will include everything from light hearted personal stories, to big ideas for hallifax’s future.
As a finale to the evening, Performance in Progress will offer an interactive theatre piece crafted on-the-spot that weaves together a mythology of our great city informed by you – a tale for us all to tell.
