YOUTH WORKSHOPS facilitated by Grey Muldoon

28 – 29 Jul 2022

We are so so excited that our staff, Grey Muldoon, will be hosting two different youth workshops on July 28th and 29th! These magical workshops will be offered in multiple time slots; One for ages 4-12 running from 10:30 AM-noon, and the other for ages 11-16 running from 1 PM - 2:30 PM. Registration is encouraged but not mandatory, you are welcome to show up the day of. There is a capacity of 13 participants. Guardians and caretakers are welcome to stay in the space but are not required.  You can follow the links attached to each workshop bulleted below to find out more information and register or you can keep reading for more info!

If this memory were a thing, what thing would it be? If this thing were a person, who would it be? A bunch of forks, a canoe, a rabbit’s skin, a potato and a poutine: how does this breathe, talk walk, sing and dance? What story does this object have to tell us and how can we help? Where has it been, what is it looking for, and who will join with it? Can we echo each others voices? Can we mimic each other's characters? What kind of looking glass has two eyes, two ears, two feet, one heart, and maybe swims and flies and spreads like thunder and wags its tail and leaves a slime trail?

Come and learn memory, observation, and connection through object theatre games.

By animating ordinary objects, we will become extraordinary visual storytellers!

This workshop is excellent for shy, neuro-atypical, and body self-conscious kids, as well as the show-stopping showboats!

Using deep play tactics, or some theatre games with sticks and wool blankets, this workshop explores identity (sticks), Land (blankets), and how we share these things (play games!) There will be instructions, but there is no right or wrong way to play these games, as we enter into an imaginary space to tell some stories together: what will we see, hear, and say?

Go as deep into your imagination as you like, or sit and watch!

Come and learn about embodied memories, direct observation, emergence, and being gentle and clear, through games designed to let everyone teach at once.

If you would like to register (again, it is encouraged but not mandatory) you can follow the link here to register for Puppetry From What's On Hand and you can follow the link here to register for All We Need Is...Sticks & Blankets. Alternatively, you can email Wren at wren@eyelevel.art with the workshop and timeslot you would like to register for in the email.

Grey Piitaapan Muldoon of Bricoteer Experiments Theatre has over 20 years experience listening to children of all ages tell him/them stories about the Land and their extraordinary memories through the fun of performing with objects. Show us what you see with two eyes, two ears, two feet and a strong heartbeat. Figure out what only you can tell us today. Be brave, be calm, come play.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to Grey at research@eyelevel.art or Wren at wren@eyelevel.art
