Video Forced

17 Jan – 23 Feb 2008

Video Forced is a group video exhibition that explores the fluctuating space between analogue and digital realties.  The artists in this exhibition simultaneously open and close this gap as they infect their digital video through a series of analogue process, effects and contemplations. These videos stand in contrast to the effects heavy editing programs that can be found on most computers today.  These artists, Christopher Flower (Montreal), Chris Gillespie (Victoria) and Collin Zipp (Winnipeg) choose to reflect on tangible forces, be it unseen forces on objects, physical force to manipulate digital images, or omnipotent external forces to generate uncanny, hypnotic and meditative works.
