These pseudo-monolithic pieces encompass the elements of traditional sculpture but refuse to be lumped together with so called “formalist” works. The juxtaposition of lead and granite’s physicality identifies and at the same time differentiates the polarity of their specific qualities. The man/nature manipulation phenomenon is examined through the subtle differences of the structure inherent in the elements and the processes used. Ultimately they become an intuitive sculptural experience.
