ERI 8 Call for Submissions

Eyelevel is seeking printed matter and artist’s multiples for Eyelevel Reshelving Initiative 8 (ERI 8). Eyelevel Re-shelving Initiative is a biennial exhibition of artist’s books, multiples, and printed matter. This year’s exhibition theme is INNER/OUTER SPACE. Considering the mobile and site-responsive nature of printed matter, the exhibition will exist both inside and outside of Eyelevel’s physical home. Submissions will be displayed at Eyelevel as well as in various locations across the city, such as waiting rooms, cafes, retail outlets, restaurants, and doctor’s offices. A map of offsite ERI locations will lead viewers around the city and back to Eyelevel, where the rest of the exhibition will be hosted in Eyelevel’s bookstore and project space.

Following the theme, submissions are invited, though not required, to consider the following ideas:

  • Privacy and surveillance

  • Worlds, galaxies and universes, real or imagined

  • Temporality and futurity

  • Borders, boundaries, and blockades

  • Material limitations and possibilities

  • Introversion and extroversion

  • Personal and political space

  • Irl and online communities

  • Movement, affect, and the body

ERI is not a juried exhibition, and all submitted work will be accepted to ERI 8 and the Eyelevel Bookstore. Work on display will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition during regular hours.
